Welcome to children and families who are just joining us at Lipscombe, and welcome back to returning children and families. Who would believe that we are already at the end of our second week of 2025?!
Many families took the opportunity to extend the Christmas holiday break, returning this week. Just as it is hard for us to transition back to work routines, children often feel the loss of wonderful, family oriented holiday fun, and the first drop off times for the year can be hard! A few fun activities and lots of time for connection with educators has seen children quickly adjust and enjoy their days.
For new children starting, whether brand new to the Service, or transitioning to a new program, it was nice to have a short and fairly quiet first week. Educators spent extra time gently settling children in, sharing a cuddle, reading books together, and getting to know children and families.
Now that more children, families, and educators have returned, we are back into the swing of things and enjoying lots of outdoor time in this beautiful summer weather. Older siblings are enjoying dropping their recently started siblings off in Bumble Bee, and Bumble Bee and Playhouse educators have been supporting children who have been making the transition to Playhouse. For some children this is a breeze with so many new and exciting opportunities. Others require a little more support to let go of the familiarity of Bumble Bee and the strong relationship that they had built with Bumble Bee educators. Children who have joined Nutgrove and Seagulls from the beginning of the year have all reportedly settled in well, whilst many children enjoy their finally days before they head off to Kinder. Meanwhile, Vacation Care is a hive of activity with children enjoying a range of excursions and on-site activities.
We look forward to spending the next twelve months with you all, building relationships, and supporting children to learn and grow.
